Dyke Pride Dance

SisterSpace Presents:
Dyke Pride Dance

Dyke Pride Dance
a benefit for the Virginia Giordano Memorial Fund and SisterSpace of the Delaware Valley

Warmer weather brings thoughts of pride season, music festivals and dance music. ‘Tis truly the season for shaking out the exclusion and stress of the world and for making a date for some LGBTQ+ inclusion and joy!  To enhance the spirit of celebration across generations and backgrounds, SisterSpace is bringing old dykes, young queers and sapphic sisters/siblings of all persuasions together for a party in northwest Philadelphia.

DYKE PRIDE DANCE builds on the legacy of previous women’s parties that have happened at this location. SisterSpace plans to make this new incarnation event become the first installation of an annual gathering especially for dykes (and their friends) of all ages, sizes, and abilities. This party centers lesbians and queer women, but all are welcome to get a ticket and get moving or simply hang out for a few hours. Come as you are and enjoy three hours of great vibes on May 15th at the Summit Presbyterian Church at Greene and Westview Streets in Philadelphia’s West Mount Airy neighborhood (everyone enters through the wheelchair-accessible entrance on Westview).

  • Enjoy a chem-free environment where you can meet and enjoy the company of a diverse cast of divine dykes and queer babes!
  • Move to the sounds of DJ Phuong spinning dance anthems from the 70s through the present for guests to groove to!
  • Buy tickets for a chance to win cash in our 50/50 raffle.
  • Sample and order delicious fund-raising DoubleGood gourmet popcorn.
  • Enjoy complimentary iced water.
  • Purchase light (nonalcoholic) refreshments.
  • Register for SisterSpace Weekend Women’s Festival at a discounted price!

DYKE PRIDE DANCE proceeds will benefit the Virginia Giordano Memorial Fund and SisterSpace of the Delaware Valley.

The Virginia Giordano Memorial Fund was created in 2017 to support and accelerate the careers of emerging artists and stage technicians through internships and performance opportunities at the SisterSpace Weekend Women’s Festival in northern Maryland every September. More than 30 SisterSpace festival artists have been sponsored by VGMF and referred to other festivals and venues since its inception including Be Steadwell, Crys Matthews, and 76th Street.

SisterSpace of the Delaware Valley is the all-volunteer organization behind the annual SisterSpace Weekend Women’s Festival, and an organizer of and collaborator with regional feminist events since 1975.

SisterSpace is proud to promote intergenerational programming and joyful moments for lesbian elders and for future generations of queer women. We look forward to creating a unique neighborhood space where women and our allies can move, groove and gather while raising funds for VGMF artists and for our organization.
